After putting away all of our Christmas Ornament Boxes decorations, we finally feel like things are back to normal. From year to year, we've kept adding more trinkets, and I've even made a few myself. After all this time, we need more space than just an old shoe box to keep everything.Putting away all of your christmas ornament boxes decorations and other small items in this way is very cheap and simple. I bought the items last year, so I don't remember the exact price, but I think it was around $10 or less. The 3/4" wood rod can be bought at Lowes or Home Depot, and you can get a big plastic bin at Target or Big Lots.I made sure that 1/3 of the wood rod's length would be enough to go across the bin plus some. I cut the wood rod in half with my jigsaw because it fit so well. It added up to 24."Then I drilled four holes in the plastic bin with my drill bits. My wood rod was 3/4", so I used a 3/4" drill bit.
The Holes Are Just The Right Size For Both Halves Of The Wood Stick.
I didn't want any room for error, so this is great. The fabric tree skirt and an old wreath were at the bottom of my bin. Then my husband and I wrapped trinkets around the tree's two halves with wood rods. My mom gave me this cute little guy for christmas ornament boxes and I wanted to keep him outside all year. He's so cute!! It's easy to pack up once all the ornaments are on the two rods. Just slide them back into their holes. The bin is still very light, and the ornaments can't fall off because there isn't any room for them to move. I just hung any ornaments that don't have a loop off of another ornament.
They're All Tucked Away And Ready For Next Christmas Ornament Boxes
You might notice that I'm posting less often over the next few months. My husband and I are finally moving into a house that is closer to both of our jobs! It's being built right now, and our closing date is May 24th. My house needs to stay clean, so I won't be working on as many projects as I did last year. Plus, I don't have anywhere to put new things! Look at this picture of our new land! This is the lovely line of trees behind our house. Because our house is near a creek, there will never be anyone living behind us. We're thrilled! I hope everyone is having a great start to the New Year!
Things Look Good For Us So Far In 2013!
You might be interested in how well our trinkets held up, so I thought I would tell you about how we unpacked them. I loved how easy it was for the ornaments to slide off the dowels. It made decorating our christmas ornament boxes a breeze. I got a dowel from the bin and so did my husband. In about 10 minutes, we had all of our ornaments up. A few ornaments either came off their metal hooks or were torn in half (one of the badly made ornaments was torn in half), but these were easy to fix. Our breakable gifts were kept safe in the bottom of the box without any problems. If you've used this way to store Christmas Boxes I hope it worked out well for you. Wishing you a wonderful 2015!
