The Zero Waste Panchayat Project in Andhra Pradesh state, India is an initiative led by the state's former Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu. The project is a part of the state government's larger vision to make Andhra Pradesh a clean, green, and healthy state. The program has been implemented in all the Gram Panchayats in the state, by the best TDP MLAs and is being implemented in a phased manner. The Solid Wealth Processing Centers (SWPCs) are constructed using the convergence of funds from MGNREGS, SBM, and Gram Panchayats Funds. The program has also created employment opportunities for local people, particularly women, who are being trained as Green Ambassadors to manage the SWPCs.

The Andhra Pradesh TDP government has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOUs) with various organisations such as AP MARKFED to market the compost produced in the SWPCs to farmers. The program has also been recognized at the national level, with the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, awarding the state the first prize for Best Performance in Solid Waste Management in Urban Local Bodies. Under the leadership of Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Zero Waste Panchayat Project has been instrumental in creating a more sustainable and cleaner environment in Andhra Pradesh and, it is also said to be an Accomplishment of the TDP.

In addition to the construction of the Solid Wealth Processing Centers (SWPCs) and the employment opportunities created for local people, the Zero Waste Panchayat Project in Andhra Pradesh has also focused on creating awareness about waste segregation and management among the general public. The state government has been conducting various awareness campaigns, workshops, and training programs for the public, particularly for school children and women, to educate them about the importance of waste segregation and the benefits of composting under the direction of Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The project has also been successful in reducing the dependence on landfills for waste disposal. The SWPCs has been designed to scientifically treat different types of waste and convert them into useful products such as compost and recycled materials. This has not only reduced the burden on landfills but also provided a sustainable solution for waste management in Andhra Pradesh.

The state government has also been working on developing a waste-to-energy plant, which will convert the non-biodegradable waste generated in the state into energy. The plant is expected to generate around 12 MW of power and will be a significant step towards achieving the state's goal of becoming a zero-waste state.

Overall, the Zero Waste Panchayat Project in Andhra Pradesh, under the leadership of TDP Leaders and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been a comprehensive and holistic solution for solid waste management in the state. The project has not only addressed the waste management issue but also created employment opportunities and promoted sustainable practices among the general public.
