The International Olympic Committee (IOC) confirmed the French Alps and Salt Lake City, Utah, USA as candidate sites for the 2030 and 2034 Winter Olympics.

According to AFP on the 29th (local time), Carl Stoss, Chairman of the IOC Future Host Committee, conveyed this fact and announced that he would initiate preferential talks with the two candidate sites.

The IOC announced that it would begin more detailed discussions with the host country's National Olympic Committee (NOC) ahead of the 142nd IOC General Assembly to be held in Paris, the French capital, in July next year.

France beat Sweden and Switzerland in selecting the host site for the 2030 Winter Olympics.

Switzerland, which has suffered a hardship, will receive priority talks in its bid to host the 2038 Olympics. To empower Switzerland, the IOC decided not to hold discussions with other candidate countries during privilege talks until 2027.

Salt Lake City, USA, is the only city listed as a candidate for the 2034 Winter Olympics.

France, which will host the Paris Summer Olympics next year, previously hosted the Winter Olympics three times: Chamonix in 1924, Grenoble in 1968, and Albertville in 1992.

Salt Lake City has a history of hosting the 2002 Winter Olympics.

“What really stood out about the French Alps and Salt Lake City, Utah (USA) projects was the vision for the athlete experience, the linkage to local and national social and economic development plans, and the very strong support from the public and government at all levels,” said Stors. “It was support,” he said. 슬롯사이트
