“Migration is an expression of the human aspiration for dignity, safety, and a better future. It is part of the social fabric, part of our very make-up as a human family.”

- Ban Ki-Moon- A South Korean Politician

It should be stated up front that migration is not an issue that needs a solution. In fact, it’s a fantastic opportunity for long-term growth for immigrants and native communities. Skills, vital labor force, and cultural diversity are just a few advantages of migration.

However, extensive migration is detrimental, but if handled smartly, migration can be successfully transformed into an engine of economic growth. Over the past few decades, the difficulty of managing migration has increased considerably as more and more individuals are compelled to leave their homes for various economic, political, social, and environmental reasons. Thousands of migrants have died or gone missing along risky and illegal routes, and smuggling and human trafficking have become increasingly common; as a result, immigration has become unsafe, leading to unorganized and unfair practices becoming common.

To solve these problems and ensure the safety of migrants, in 2019, John Alexander Sanchez Cabrera established Immigration and Business, LLC. The organization offers help to immigrants at every stage, from visa application to completing paperwork and eventually traveling on legal routes to the United States. It also helps businessmen who wish to grow their business in the United States.

Before establishing Immigration and Business, Sanchez worked as an immigration legal assistant for Sondra Macollins ESQ in New York. In this role, he was responsible for performing extensive research on immigration laws, regulations, and policies to provide attorneys and clients with recent and accurate information. This may involve monitoring the development of immigration legislation, conducting an in-depth analysis of relevant case law, and locating applicable precedents for legal arguments. In addition, he was in charge of teaching and guiding less experienced paralegals so they could do their jobs properly.

Along with other attorneys and immigrants, Sanchez has advocated for and supported pro-immigrant initiatives like Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuela, a law of Venezuelan adjustment and immigration reform. This initiative is currently fighting and also seeking TPS for Colombia. TPS also conducts free migrant education sessions in Florida, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut for asylum applicants, work permits, TPS, and humanitarian Parole.

Sanchez is a Colombian law expert, writer, and public speaker born on May 14, 1979. In addition to his expertise in international business law, he is also a recognized authority in immigration law. Sanchez has been featured on numerous national and international news programs. In addition to NTN 24 and This is Queens Borough, he has been featured on NoticiasRCN.com and red+ más noticias. To develop better study and research programs for international migration law in Colombia, Sanchez helped establish the Colombian College of International Immigration Law (CCDMI), a non-profit organization. The Chamber of Commerce has validated and registered the college’s website, so it should run soon.

Sanchez is the President of the United States Document Preparers Association (USDPA). This group trains people to serve the most vulnerable members of society at a low cost and hosts educational sessions to help new migrants adjust to American law. The USDPA currently has more than 200 members. He is also a part of the National Association of Foreign Attorneys (Member ID: 6377-372-202) and the American Bar Association (Member ID: 05816547).

From Sanchez’s second semester at Politécnico Grancolombiano until he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree, he was awarded a scholarship for academic excellence. Sanchez was honored by the Fundación Tecnológica de Madrid in Colombia with a Special distinction for his international career accomplishments and dedication to pedagogical merit in Corporate and Immigration Law.

Conclusively, migration’s economic and social benefits can accumulate for both the host country and the immigrants. For nations to reap these benefits, policies, and practices must promote the financial well-being of migrants and society at large while also adhering to international standards that respect, protect, and fulfill the human rights of all people within a state’s territory, regardless of their nationality, race, gender, religion, or migration status.
