How To Stay Fit When 'Busy'

It’s not easy to find ample time for a dedicated workout session. Some easy fitness attributes to include in your daily schedules is an easy way to stay fit.

We all have gushed over the shredded physique of Ryan Gosling…

Admired the fitness diva Salma Hayek…

We have also imagined ourselves flaunting our fitness like them while taking a bite of cheesy Nacho and sipping a cola after a tiring day at work.

But the following day, when we hit the power button on our laptops and start crunching those numbers on the spreadsheet, being fit becomes the last thing on our to-do list. After all, who's going to take the time out of our frenetic schedule?

It's absolutely devastating that we cannot make time for exercise or figure out a fitness routine in our busy lives. The major problem is we tend to neglect the difference it makes in our daily chores and the benefits it may offer us in the long run.

Not being physically fit can directly impact our mental health, eventually deteriorating our performance, stamina, and endurance. But what if there was a way to stay fit without cutting down on your working hours?

Well, here you go.

Appreciate yourself

Before moving on, let's get one thing right. Whether you can find a fitness routine or not or do as little as you can, don't beat yourself up over anything. The worst thing this generation does is not give enough credit to themselves for fulfilling their responsibilities to the best of their capabilities.

Instead of stressing over the stuff you don't manage to pull off, try appreciating yourself for doing all that you do with all due diligence and dedication.

Let's face it. Life can never be perfect, and there will always be ifs and buts in almost every instance. The smartest approach is to embrace that present moment and smile through the phase. Remember, you should be your first admirer. Motivated much? Now let the fitness game begin.

Make a Mini Gym at your Place

One of the concerns people with busy routines have is finding easy access to a facility where they can exercise and burn some calories. The easy way to deal with this issue is to get a few gym equipment you can fit at your home or your office (if your boss is ok with it).

That way, you can sneak a few reps with the dumbbells or sweat out some of that fat on the treadmill whenever you have time. Having the equipment in front of your eyes will also work as a constant fitness reminder and can save some bucks you would've spent on a gym you might not attend regularly.

Get yourself a Workout Buddy

It's always nice to have a friend by your side while at work with whom you can share your work-life struggles without a care in the world. Finding a workout buddy helps boost your morale.

So push yourself and your buddy to plan a workout routine. It will make the workout enjoyable since you can chit-chat with your friend during the session and can have laughter therapy at the same time. It's like mashing two potatoes with one fork.

Say Goodbye to Vending Machines

You are what you eat!

If that were true in a literal sense, the world would have been a land filled with walking hot dogs and tall coffee mugs running towards the bus (That would've been cool tho).

It's true in the sense that the food you eat hugely impacts your mood. It even influences your behavior. Even if you are not physically active, a healthy diet plan can make a big difference in how you function in your day-to-day life.

It's very probable to skip breakfast when you are running late for work or miss your lunch to finish the presentation. In that case, you are likely to starve and develop the habit of overeating. It leads to consuming greasy, oily food and overly sugary items that might satisfy your cravings momentarily.

Eventually, it will harm your overall physical and mental health.

Keep a stash of healthy snacks in your office drawer and in your home to prevent this from happening.

Some examples of healthy, preservable food include

  • Dry fruits
  • Peanut Butter
  • Whole Grain Biscuits
  • Bagged dried fruits
  • Reduced fat and salt Popcorns

Workout on your way to Work

Arguably this is the best and a common practice to indulge in a fitness activity without shaking the timetable too much.

Unfortunately, this might not apply to everyone.

If your workplace is at a relatively short distance and you travel by car or some other transportation service, try cycling or even walking.

The best time is when you leave for your office since morning exercise is the healthiest way to kickstart your day and uplift your mood. It's no secret that exercise increases the production of endorphins known to improve your mood and reduce pain perception. Considering our rumpled and stressful timeline, we'll need all of the endorphins to work in our favor.

Follow the 80/20 Rule

If you haven't heard about the 80/20 rule or forgotten the dynamics of it, here is a little refresher for you. The 80/20 rule suggests that 80% of the results or yields are derived from 20% of the efforts or resources. It is a popular terminology in the professional environment that 80% of the organization's success depends on 20% of the workforce, which produces the best results.

But how can you implement that in your personal life and relate it to fitness?

According to the rule, if you perfect 20% of the essential things in your life, you will have the best chance to succeed in the remaining 80% of the work. Now that we have established that being fit and healthy is the key to thriving in the activities we indulge in and its positive impacts on our behavior, we must put fitness on our priority list. We must put fitness first to sustain and survive in the rat race.

If you are interested in knowing more about the 80/20 rule and getting exposed to countless new tips and health routines, then Health, Fitness, and Wellness Book will help you improve your wellness, fitness, and nutritional plans without annoying your taste buds. The author Alex Madden extensively devised the 52-week guide for people who can't manage a strict diet and fitness plan due to their engaging lifestyle.
