Discuss the Queensland government's Good people, Good jobs: Queensland workforce strategy 2022-2032 at this lunch box session. Here are some of the Brisbane business events held to increase social outreach.

Local Business Network

Business networking can be a powerful way to build relationships with other businesses and potential clients. It can also help you find advice from experienced business owners who are familiar with the challenges you may face. These relationships can lead to sales and referrals that help you grow your business.

Networking events or local business luncheons are a great opportunity to meet people who can help you grow your business. Make sure to follow up with the contacts you meet, whether through email or by connecting on social media or even arranging a member meet. Following up will turn a casual acquaintance into a valuable business contact.

Fresh Networking is a Brisbane CBD networking group with a unique style that brings 'More Connections, Less Blah' to the table. Their meetings are professional, varied and fun, but they're held online – perfect if you don't have time to travel (or change out of your thongs). Each meeting includes 10 minute educational presentations from members on their specialties, which helps the rest of the network understand who to refer to when they need something.

ecoBiz

The Queensland Government’s ecoBiz program offers a free cost reduction strategy to help businesses save on their energy, water and waste bills. The program offers a one-on-one coaching session with an expert sustainability consultant and an action plan to reduce costs. In addition, it offers free benchmarking assistance and workshops to help businesses audit their resource use.

More than 1,000 Queensland businesses have registered with ecoBiz, and analysis shows on average they are saving across their power, water and waste bills. These savings can be reinvested back into their business or can be used to invest in new equipment and technology.

In this month’s State Budget, the Palaszczuk Government allocated $4 million to extend the highly successful ecoBiz program until 2022. This will provide more support for small and medium sized businesses to reduce their energy, water and waste consumption. This will be a win-win for local business operators and the environment.

Employment Hero

Employment Hero is a cloud-based HR management system that helps businesses of all sizes handle payroll and employee benefits in a single platform. The platform provides a range of features, including applicant tracking and recruitment tools, onboarding, performance review, learning and development, and reporting. It also integrates with accounting systems and time and attendance trackers. In addition, the system supports mobile devices, allowing employees to access their work schedules and contacts from anywhere.

Founded in 2014, Employment Hero is based in Sydney, Australia. Its HR software is used by 80,000 small businesses to manage their employment issues. It also provides employee benefits, such as discounts on health insurance, gym memberships, and gift cards.

Employment Hero prioritizes the security of its users’ data, implementing encryption protocols and multi-factor authentication. It also conducts regular security audits and tests to identify and fix any vulnerabilities. Moreover, its security team monitors activity on the platform and responds quickly to any suspicious behavior. This makes it one of the safest HR management platforms on the market. However, it is still important to do your own due diligence before using any software or service.
