There is good news for iPhone users who want to register their iPhone 14 Pro models with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decreased the tax for iPhones 14 series as per the instructions of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Revised PTA Taxes on Apple iPhone 14 Series (June 2023) will give some relief to iPhone enthusiasts.
The recently announced PTA taxes on Apple iPhone 14 is 20% of the phone price. The iPhone 14 is priced at around Rs. 245,291 in Pakistan. Therefore the iPhone 14 PTA tax on the passport registration is PKR 107,325. The CNIC registration is PKR 130,708.
Demand for iPhones is high in Pakistan, but PTA taxes are increasing daily. Failure to pay the tax will prevent the purchaser from using the phone on the local telecommunications network. If you have recently (within the past 30 days) traveled to another country, you can use your passport instead of your CNIC to register your iPhone.
There has been a notable decrease in the taxes for registering the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with the PTA. People who use iPhones not approved by the PTA will receive some relief through the announcement.
However, remember that phone tax rates can change often and may vary depending on the market source. The new PTA Tax on the iPhone 14 amounts to 20% of its original price.
