The SGCCI has lobbied against keeping the Quality Control Order (QCO) on textile machinery, saying it holds back the growth of the industry due to the heavy use of imported equipment. Because of the Free Trade Agreement, the volume of Indian shipments of apparel and home textiles to the UK is expected to grow by one hundred percent within five to six years.
