Royal Challengers Bangalore team faced defeat in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Royal Challengers Bangalore had to face defeat by 42 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 65th match of IPL 2025. While chasing the target of 232 runs, at one point their score was 173 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 15.3 overs, it seemed that RCB would win easily from here but it did not happen. Bangalore needed 59 runs in 27 balls to win from here, but the team was restricted to just 16 runs.
Seeing this terrible collapse of RCB, the new captain Jitesh Sharma himself looked quite surprised. When he was asked about this, he said that he did not have an answer to this. However, he called the defeat against Hyderabad a good one and said that it was a wake-up call for the team.
Jitesh Sharma gave a surprising statement after losing the match to SRH
Jitesh Sharma said after the match, “I think there were 20-30 runs more, I don’t have an answer (how RCB lost from that situation). We were rusty and I think there was a lack of intensity, but it is good to lose this match.”
He further said, “I was upset because I got out, I was not in that zone to meet the injured Tim David. I think it was good to lose this match, the positive things are that we are batting well. After this defeat, I think this setback is good, we will come back in a good way in the coming games.” After this defeat from Sunrisers Hyderabad, RCB has dropped out of the top-2 of the IPL 2025 points table. Now their last league match is against Lucknow Super Giants. If RCB has to regain their place in the top-2, then they will have to beat LSG at all costs, as well as they will have to depend on the results of the matches of Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings.
