Horizon Zero Dawn could be getting a significant upgrade, as a new report claims that "accessibility features graphics modes, graphics features, and quality of life improvements to the gameplay itself," will help bring Guerrilla Games' 2017 title in line with the similar quality as the 2022 sequel Horizon Forbidden West.
According to MP1st, and corroborated by VGC The new character models, lighting, and animations are expected to be added to the game along with accessibility options. The game is essentially playing the role of both Remaster and remake in the process. A number of these improvements are available in the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn that was released in 2020. However, the game mostly used the same assets as the PS4 edition.
Based on the information, Guerrilla Games is also currently working on the Horizon multiplayer intended for PS5 along with PC. Co-op features had been planned to be included in Zero Dawn as far back as 2014 according to VGC's sources, but these features were dropped so that other areas in the game can be concentrated on. The concept hasn't completely scrapped for the mainline series and could eventually make its way to Horizon 3.
Sony is also expanding the series to other types of media.
