Under BIS Act 2016 and Rules and Regulations, BIS has been operating the FMCS since 2000 to grant the license to the foreign manufacturer to ensure conformance with the Indian standards.

- Thereafter, to verify the manufacturing and testing infrastructure, a factory inspection will be conducted.
