 1) Open Settings tap Apple ID go to iCloud and tap it. 

 2) Tap the switch next to Contacts. 

 3) A popup will appear asking "What do you want to do with the iCloud contacts you previously synced on your iPhone?" 

 4) Tap Save on my iPhone. 

 5) Restart iPhone. 

 6) Open Settings again tap on Apple ID go to iCloud and tap on it. 

 7) Go to Contacts and tap the switch next to it. 

 8) When the pop-up window appears, tap Connect.
