Seoul Women's Deaf Curling Team Wins MVP of Winter Sports Games for the Disabled

The Seoul women's deaf curling team, consisting of 'captain' Kim Ji-soo (27), Kwon Ye-ji (27), Kim Ji-soo (27), Park Gyeong-ran (25), Oh Hye-bin (24), and Lee Su-jeong (24), participated in the 21st Winter National Sports for the Disabled. He received the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the competition.

They succeeded in winning the competition three times in a row and were selected as MVP by receiving 14 out of a total of 31 votes in the press vote on the 21st, beating Bong Hyeon-chae (21, Gyeonggi, Nordic skiing, 11 votes).

Jisoo Kim said, “Thank you to everyone who supported me. “I will do my best to receive good energy from this sports competition and win a prize at the Deaflympics,” he said.

The Seoul Curling Team will participate as Korea's representative in the De Olympic Games held in Turkye Erizurum next month and attempt to win a prize for the second time in a row.

They won a bronze medal at the 2019 Valtellina Games, making them the first Korean athletes to win a Winter Depic Games.

Hearing-impaired curling players usually wear hearing aids and practice just like non-disabled players.

However, in 'real life', wearing hearing aids is prohibited to prevent fraud, so communication must be done only with hand gestures.

The Rookie Player of the Year award at this Paralympic Games went to Kim Hong-jun (15, Seoul, ice hockey).

Kim Hong-jun, a former dream athlete from the Korean Sports Association for the Disabled, said, “With this award as an opportunity, I will train harder in the future with the intention of giving back.”

Kim Hong-jun recorded 1 goal and 2 assists in this tournament.

Meanwhile, Seoul won the overall championship for the third consecutive time with a total score of 30,441.00 points, beating Gyeonggi (29,886.80 points). 스포츠토토
