The film tells the story of a hiker who mysteriously disappears in the Oregon forest in 1995. He is presumed dead, but many speculate that he may have fallen victim to "hill fever" or, as the local Native American community calls it, "wolf face." The story follows a young boy named Blake, who lives on a remote farm with his controlling and violent survivalist father, Grady. During a hunting trip, they encounter a dark force that becomes the catalyst for the horrific events that follow. Thirty years later, Blake now lives in New York City with his wife, Charlotte, and their daughter, Ginger.
