At the age of 14, Robles encountered the sport of wrestling for the first time. Initially, he faced difficulties, frequently finding himself among the lower ranks of his team. However, through steadfast dedication and rigorous training, he was able to turn his early setbacks into a succession of victories. By his junior and senior years at Mesa High School, Robles had compiled an impressive record of 96-0, securing the titles of two-time Arizona State Champion and high school National Champion. Despite his high school accomplishments, numerous collegiate wrestling programs were skeptical of Robles' potential at the next level, citing concerns regarding his size and physical condition.
