Is Dubai really the dreamland for 9–6 employees? Or is it a trap?
Here’s what I found while researching:
→ 85% of Dubai’s population are expats (World Bank).
→ Dubai ranks 15th most expensive city globally (Mercer 2024).
→ An AED 8,000 monthly salary barely covers rent + groceries.
Employees often face:
→ Visa delays & restrictions for families.
→ Overwork & underpay (2–3 hours more weekly than OECD avg).
→ Discrimination in workplaces.
Now compare this with entrepreneurship:
→ #dubai issued 45,653 business licenses in 2023.
→ SMEs contribute ~47% of GDP.
→ 40+ free zones, low taxes, and fast digital licensing.
Dubai is tough for employees, but fertile ground for #entrepreneurs and freelancers.
So the real question is: Are you building Dubai’s dream, or your own?
