Dr. Jan Van Deursen was born in 1965 in the Netherlands. He studied at the University of Amsterdam, obtaining his Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics in 1992. Van Deursen’s research focuses on the mechanisms of cell death and aging. In particular, his lab has studied how changes in the levels of certain proteins can lead to the death of cells and the aging of tissues.
