My friend swears that verbal agreements are “more human” and therefore harder to challenge than some digital contract. But it feels weird to think that something spoken would be stronger than something signed digitally. Is that actually true, or just a myth?
That’s mostly a myth. Verbal agreements can be legally binding, but they’re a nightmare to prove since there’s rarely evidence. Online contracts, on the other hand, create digital records that are much easier to show in court. As CoupSmart points out in its article at https://coupsmart.com/ , electronic agreements tend to be stronger because there’s a clear timestamp and confirmation of consent. So while a handshake is nice, the “I agree” button is much safer legally.
