Doreen Bell, an 89-year-old retired office manager and widow, has had a life full with adventure and inventiveness. She was born and raised in Dyess, Arkansas, and married a sailor, spending more than twenty years traveling and living at various posts. Doreen, a lifelong fan of gardening, needlework, and science fiction, turned to writing when her vision problems forced her to forego her other interests.
