Greetings, lads! Our LoL Elo boost team will talk again about map awareness today, giving you some tips to avoid dying too much and to improve your LoL experience. To climb the ladder, you need to understand what's happening on the other side of the map all the time. Follow our advice! This is a three-step process, so please bear with me.
First of all, dedicate at least three games exclusively to improving your map awareness, and the next two points
Even though it's not a step, it's still very important: if you want to become better at reading the game and controlling the minimap, you need to practice. It's not possible to do that in a bot game, so you'll need to try it in your ranked games. In the long run, it is a necessary sin.
According to our LoL boost team, you should try to use the minimap whenever you do not need to be fully focused on your champion - for example, when you remember when you do not need to last hit, or when you are not trading. In addition to not just watching your champion, it's important to choose the "look at the minimap" option. Put yourself in the right frame of mind to develop this new habit!
At least three games should be dedicated to looking at the minimap as a priority. We often use this method in our duo queue boost sessions: we tell our partner to ignore everything in the game, especially one single aspect, to train effectively. In this case, we want to focus mostly on the minimap and less on our champion.
You will miss a lot of cs in these games and probably lose the lane. I agree, but as I said, it will be worth it in the long term. Even if you lose some LPs, you will be able to earn many more thanks to an improved map awareness. The goal here isn't to win quickly but to LEARN. Just like going to college, you will spend a lot of time studying, but you will reap the benefits in the long run. Stop playing League and finish your paper!
Step Two: in these three or more games, focus the camera on every ally after every wave of minion waves
Since junglers don't need to focus on their mechanics, this step is mostly beneficial for laners. In other words, you will kill that wolf even if you don't look at it, so you can look elsewhere (or play Overwatch, Hearthstone, or whatever else you want) while clearing the jungle. For laners, follow this rule: after each wave, look at each ally by moving the camera or pressing F1-F5.
The LoL Elo boost team recommends that you watch your allies for a few seconds, then switch to another teammate, and finally, focus on yourself again by pressing the spacebar. By having a clear understanding of the flow of the game, you will be able to play with global abilities or teleport and see who needs help. You can also use the O or TAB buttons to view the scoreboards, the creep score differential, and the KDA of each lane.
First of all, remember to do this for three games, no matter how much damage you receive or how many creeps you miss. In time, it will become automatic because you are building a habit. With the camera remaining fixed on the map, you can follow your teammates. You should also keep an eye on your enemies, especially the jungler.
In our duo queue boost sessions, we always advise our clients to keep their last seen position of the enemy jungler in mind, which allows them to get more information and avoid unnecessary ganks. Repeat this until your minimap is automatically updated to provide information instantly, then keep repeating this.
Finally, play Twisted Fate
Twisted Fate is one of the best mid laners in LoL when it comes to roaming during this meta. When playing him, you'll learn how to roam, and indirectly how to watch the map for enemies out of position. Playing Ryze will teach you how to smash your keyboard, just like playing Ryze.
Our Elo boost team recommends that you play any champion with global abilities or a roamer if you are not a mid laner - such as Shen, Pantheon, and Tahm Kench, our much-beloved frog. When you play your favorite champion with global abilities, you will increase your map awareness, since controlling the map is necessary to play these heroes at their full potential, or simply to feel the satisfaction of pressing R and outplaying your opponent.
A final note from our elo boosting team: watching often the map is necessary, but not sufficient, in order to increase your map awareness because you need to process information and knowledge quickly, almost unconsciously, and then translate that knowledge into in-game actions. It is easier to do than to say since it will become an unconscious habit with a little practice.
You can see useful information on the map whenever you are not trading or cs'ing. Take advantage of it and win more games! Thank you for reading this article. I hope it was helpful. I'm sure you will come here to thank our LoL boosters if you follow our steps and share the results with us!
