Jane, Axel's grown-up daughter who practices law, discovers herself in Beverly Hills confronting a danger from a corrupt police plot, potentially involving Captain Grant. Axel reconnects with his former BHPD comrades Billy and John, who has retired and unretired to become chief. They exhibit a laid-back approach to retirement, reminiscent of the Detroit and Miami police departments, as depicted by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys. Murphy engages in amusing pursuits using various vehicles, and continues to outsmart club doormen and security gatekeepers. While still funny, Murphy's use of his "white people" voice feels somewhat outdated, and his comedic style may need to evolve with his age. Nevertheless, Murphy's talent could still shine with the right script, relying on the loyalty of his audience.
