Social and emotional development refers to the process through which individuals learn to understand and manage their emotions, as well as interact with others in a positive and effective way. This development begins in early childhood and continues throughout an individual's lifespan.

Social development involves the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others. This includes learning social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and cooperating with others. As individuals develop, they also learn to read and interpret social cues, such as body language and facial expressions, which helps them navigate social situations more effectively.
