Las Vegas When to go
When it comes to Las Vegas, there is no bad time to visit. Almost all major holidays are the best times, but Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's are especially popular. There are big gatherings throughout the year, but especially in January, at the beginning of spring, and from October to December. Even a slower time like August and the two weeks leading up to Christmas are just opportunities for better prices and room to move around.
There is something to be aware of at any time. The weather warms up quickly in the spring, with temperatures in the 80s and 90s during the day (although it can still be cool at night), so pool season is be right here. During the summer, the temperature is higher than 100 (and is higher even in the middle of the night), making it important to drink water and wear sunscreen and walk outside. When fall arrives, outdoor activities like hiking Red Rock Canyon or visiting Hoover Dam become more appealing. In winter, the temperature can be lower than expected (even freezing overnight), the sky can be overcast, and even a little rain (rains occur in January). Of course, this cold weather doesn't affect many of the activities available, but it does provide an added incentive to get out and explore.
Vegas is quieter and more manageable on weekdays, when prices for accommodation, spa services, entertainment and even food can drop, often significantly.
