According to a release, the 'UAE Jobs Bank' would encourage UAE residents to apply directly for employment opportunities in the public and commercial sectors, giving them preference in certain professions.

The overall number of designated professions in which Emiratisation will be prioritized is 160. According to the statement, these vocations contain 5,000 job titles.

The first phase of the e-government platform will begin in November 2019, with 160 government and semi-government bodies, federal and municipal organizations, public shareholding firms, and national banks ordered to advertise employment vacancies through the site.

The second phase, which will encompass all government bodies, semi-government organizations, and the business sector, will commence in Q2 2020, according to the announcement.

According to the statement, the mechanism was collaboratively executed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, and the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.

Businesses will conduct interviews with Emirati applicants who meet the employment requirements. Employers must provide reasons for rejecting applications.

Emiratisation has long been a top focus for the UAE government. Localization of jobs increased by 200 percent in 2018.
